Help Clean Up Flood Debris

This is a great opportunity to serve:

Flood Restoration is a gift to all –
both big and small.

Of General George Patton Rd. off of Sawyer Brown Rd.
When: Saturday, December 18th 2010
Time: 9:30 – 1:30

As you know River Plantation was hit very hard by the May 2010 floods, and
although much has been restored there is still more left to do. So, please help
HRWA bring Christmas early to those who still live there.

Everything needed including coffee and hot coco will be provided
just please dress warm and RSVP so that we have enough supplies.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch

When I first started this blog, I was amazed learning about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Here is a new article from the Miami Herald about plans to start cleaning it up next year. Of course, we need to take stringent methods to avoid adding plastics to it.
